Our Story

Back to the Roots,
Issan North East Thailand

Introduction:

My journey with Thai cuisine began long before I could even reach the kitchen counter. Growing up in a household where food was not just sustenance but a celebration of culture and heritage, I was immersed in the rich flavors and traditions of Thai cooking from a young age. From watching my parents and grandparents at the stove to eagerly tasting every dish they prepared, cooking and eating Thai food became an integral part of my identity.

Chapter 1: A Childhood in the Kitchen

Some of my earliest memories are of standing on a stool beside my mother as we rolled delicate spring rolls and stuffed aromatic curry pastes. My family's kitchen was a bustling hub of activity, filled with the fragrant aromas of lemongrass, chili, and garlic. As I helped my parents prepare meals for family gatherings and festive occasions, I discovered the joy of creating something delicious from simple, wholesome ingredients.

Chapter 2: Passing Down the Recipes

As I grew older, my love for Thai cooking deepened as I learned the stories behind each recipe handed down through generations. From my grandmother's secret spice blends to my father's mastery of the wok, every dish had a story to tell, connecting me to my family's roots and cultural heritage. With each meal shared around the dining table, I felt a sense of pride in preserving our culinary traditions and passing them down to future generations.

Chapter 3: A Passion Ignited

It wasn't long before my newfound passion for Thai cooking extended beyond the confines of our family kitchen. Inspired by the flavors of my childhood and fueled by a desire to share them with others. I began my professional journey as a Thai Cook started in Hornsby NSW back in 2010. My journey and knowledge has developed and continues through to the present day.

Chapter 4: Cooking with Love

For me, cooking Thai food is more than just following a set of instructions; . Whether I'm simmering a fragrant pot of Tom Yum Goong or grilling skewers of succulent satay, each dish is infused with the warmth and generosity of my family's kitchen. And when I see the smiles of satisfaction on the faces of those enjoying my food, I know that I am carrying on a tradition that is as timeless as it is delicious.

Conclusion:

In a world where culinary trends come and go, the timeless allure of Thai cuisine endures, thanks to the dedication and passion of home cooks like myself. From humble beginnings in my family's kitchen to the joy of sharing my love for Thai food with others, my journey with Thai cuisine has been a source of inspiration and fulfillment.

Hot, Sour, Sweet and
Oh, So Fresh

  • Family-Style Dining: Thai meals are often served family-style, with several dishes placed in the center of the table for everyone to share. Embrace this communal dining style by taking a bit of everything and passing dishes around.

  • Use Utensils: While it's common to see Thais using a fork and spoon for eating, chopsticks are typically reserved for noodle dishes. Use your spoon to scoop up rice and soups, while your fork can be used to push food onto the spoon or to eat pieces of meat or vegetables.

  • Blend Flavors: Thai cuisine is known for its balance of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy flavors. Experiment with combining different dishes and flavors on your plate to create a harmonious blend of tastes.

  • Start with Appetizers: Begin your meal with appetizers like spring rolls, satay, or spicy salads to awaken your taste buds and prepare your palate for the main course.

  • Dive into Soups and Curries: Soups like Tom Yum and curries like Green Curry are signature dishes in Thai cuisine. Sip the flavorful broth of the soup and enjoy the interplay of herbs and spices in the curry.

  • Enjoy Rice and Noodles: Rice and noodles are staple components of Thai meals. Pair your main dishes with steamed jasmine rice or indulge in noodle dishes like Pad Thai or Pad See Ew.

  • Embrace Spiciness: Thai food can be spicy, but don't let that intimidate you. Start with milder dishes and gradually work your way up to spicier ones as you build your tolerance.

  • Savor Desserts: Thai desserts often feature tropical fruits, coconut milk, and sweet sticky rice. Mango Sticky Rice is a popular choice, but don't hesitate to try other sweet treats like Thai custard or coconut ice cream.

  • Stay Hydrated: Spicy dishes can make you thirsty, so be sure to have plenty of water or Thai iced tea on hand to cool down your palate.

  • Enjoy the Experience: Thai dining is not just about the food; it's about the company, the atmosphere, and the overall experience. So sit back, relax, and savor every moment of your culinary journey through Thailand's vibrant and diverse cuisine.
